Heroes will delve into Elle’s backstory

September 15, 2008 By Mike Hickerson Leave a Comment

Last year, “Heroes” introduced us to Elle Bishop, played by Kristen Bell.

Elle was one of several characters introduced to the “Heroes” universe last year and one that really caught on with the fans.   This year, Bell promises that the fans’ interest will be even more piqued when we learn more about Elle’s background and backstory.

“They’re showing more of her human side,” Bell told SciFi Wire. “She’s this vaguely barbaric, unfeeling, antisocial adaptive killer who’s coy. However, she’s had some tough decisions to make [over the years, and the writers are] giving her more depth. There are flashback scenes showing that she’s intricately woven into people’s lives before you met her. She met a lot of [the characters] before she was introduced on the show.”

“I actually like where [the writers have] taken the whole storyline this year for everybody, including Elle,” she added.

The good news for fans is that Bell has signed on for 13 episodes this season.  Bell said she was a big fan of the show before signing on for the role of Elle last year.

And in a nod for our fans of SciFi Smackdowns, Bell which of her two recent television characters would win in a battle–Elle or Veronica Mars (from the popular UPN/CW series).

“In a fair fight, Veronica. In a dirty fight–hands down–Elle,” Bell said. “I’m gonna vote for good rather than evil and say Veronica.”

Fans will get to see what’s happening with Elle and the rest of the “Heroes” next Monday, starting at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
