With nothing much new to pick from, except the Nicolas Cage remake of the Asian film “Bangkok Dangerous,” the movie-going crowd either stayed at home this weekend or found something better to spend their money on than a movie ticket and expensive bag of popcorn.
“Dangerous,” at $7.8 million, did woefully bad this weekend and will barely squeak by “Topic Thunder” ($7.5 million) the box office champ for three weeks in a row.
Except for the Cage flick, everything else in the roaster remains pretty much the same.
“The House Bunny” will likely take over third spot from “The Dark Knight,” which moves to fourth and “Traitor” hangs on to fifth place. For those keeping track, “Knight” now sits at a little over $512 million domestic after 8 weeks.
