Geek Syndicate Keeping the U.K. on its Geeky Toes

August 21, 2008 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

Geek Syndicate is a UK based podcast that celebrates and focuses on all things geek, especially comics. They bring the news from the world of TV, movies, games, comics and gadgets, as well as reviews, interviews and special features.

Last year they were nominated in the Best Entertainment category at the 2007 Podcast Awards. Geek Syndicate was also the first ever UK Comic Podcast to host a live podcast event at two of the UK’s biggest comic conventions.

In 2008 Geek Syndicate has been building on their previous success with several big interviews from the world of TV. Writers working on such hit shows as “Spooks,” “Hustle,” “Doctor Who,” “Torchwood,” “Life on Mars,” “Robin Hood,” “Primeval” and “Bonekickers ” have all taken part on the show.

At this years Birmingham International Comic Show Geek Syndicate will be hosting a live podcast panel. At the event they will be interviewing Dave Gibbons, comic artist and one of the driving forces behind the “Watchmen” graphic novel which soon to be a major motion picture.

Most recent they did an interview with Howard Webster regarding his work on “The Many Worlds of Jonas Moore.” Webster shared his thoughts on how the idea to bring Jonas Moore to the small screen and online came about, how actor Coiln Salmon became involved, the future of the project and more.

Drop by and give a listen to David Monteith, Barry Nugent and the entire Geek Syndicate gang and let them guide you through the murky underbelly of geekdom. Tell them Slice of SciFi sent you.
