“Futurama” may be headed to Blu-Ray according to TV Shows on DVD.   In an interview with Agent DVD, series producer David X. Cohen said that the next two releases “Bender’s Game” and “Into the Wild Green Yonder” may get be released on both DVD and Blu-Ray disc on the same day.   Cohen said the next two installments are being produced in high-definiton with a Blu-Ray release in mind for both.

During the interview, Cohen also said that tentative release date for “Bender’s Game” will be November 4.

Cohen also stated that the last two “Futurama” movie releases “Bender’s Big Score” and “The Beast With A Billion Backs” would also be released on Blu-Ray at some point in the future.

The upcoming “Star Trek: Alternate Realities” four-disc set will include the remastered versions of the original series episodes according to Paramount.  The four original series episodes include “The Enemy Within,” “The Alternative Factor,” “Mirror, Mirror” and “The Turnabout Intruder.”

There was some speculation about whether or not “Turnabout” would be remastered in time for the release.  The episode is the last episode of the original series produced from the third season.

“Doctor Who” fans will have a lot to put on their wish list for the holidays this year.   A new slate of releases for the United States was announced this week.

The just-completed fourth series will hit stores in a five-disc set on November 18 report TV Shows on DVD.  Featuring David Tennant as the Doctor and Catherine Tate as Donna, the set will include all 14 episodes from the fourth series as well as a wealth of extras for fans.

Before that, several stories from the classic series will make their way to DVD.  As previously reported, next week sees the release of the 25th anniversary edition of “The Five Doctors,” “Black Orchid” and “The Time Meddler.”

The first Tuesday of September will bring home two new Tom Baker stories from season fifteen.  Both are two disc sets.  First is the K-9 themed set of “The Invisible Enemy” and it’s infamous spin-off “K-9 and Company.”  Next is the season-finale “The Invasion of Time” which among its extras includes new CGI effects.

On October 14th, fans can look forward to celebrating Halloween with the Tom Baker classic “The Brain of Morbius.”   And the entire run of “The Trial of A Time Lord” will be released that day, starring Colin Baker as the sixth Doctor in his final season.

Finally, it has been confirmed that “Iron Man” will hit stores on September 29th.  The popular summer movie will be released as a single disc and two-disc set on DVD and also see release on Blu-ray.
