Hick’s Picks 41

July 28, 2008 By Michael Hickerson 1 Comment

The truth is out there…on Supernatural.

This weekend at the ComicCon Supernatural panel, it was confirmed that Mitch Pileggi, who starred as Assistant Director Walter Skinner on The X-Files, will have a guest-role this year. Pileggi will feature in several episodes for the upcoming fourth season as Mary’s father, reports our partner TV Guide On-Line.

The Smallville ComicCon panel also dropped some hints about what fans can expect in season eight. As previously reported, Green Arrow will be back as a full-time cast member. The season will explore the background of the popular hero and explore the reasons that drive Justin Hartley as Green Arrow. Also it was promised that Lois and Clark will be working together at the Daily Planet and that Lois may start to think of Clark in a different light. Will this lead to a possible Lois and Clark romance? That remains to be seen…

ABC Family has announced that it’s cutting the episode order of The Middleman from 13 to 12 episodes. According to series producer and creator, Javier Grillo-Marxuach the decision was made jointly by he and the ABC Family executives. On his blog, Grillo-Marxauch said that the decision was mutual and that the pooling of resources from the final two episodes of the season will lead to a big and better season finale for the show.

Whether or not this becomes the series finale remains to be seen. But rarely has anything good come from a network cutting back an episode order.

At this weekend’s ComicCon panel on Futurama, producer David X. Cohen revealed some details about the upcoming direct-to-DVD releases. The next installment will include the voice talents of George Takei and Rich Little with the fourth installment including guest-roles from Snoop Dogg and Penn Gillette. The fourth installment will also include a focus on the long-running Fry/Leela romance and include a crowd scene featuring all 300 regulars from the series.
