PodCulture Presents: a Stargate Louisville Salute to Actor Don S. Davis

PodCulture Presents: a Stargate Louisville Salute to Actor Don S. Davis

July 9, 2008 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

Brad and Christina take a week off from PodCulture, and dust off the Stargate Louisville podcast and join friends and fans in remembering a dear part of the sci-fi community, actor Don S. Davis.

Whether you knew him as Scully’s dad on “The X-Files,” Major Garland Briggs on “Twin Peaks” or as General George S. Hammond on “Stargate: SG-1,” fans were treated with a brilliant and heartfelt performance in everything Don did.

We had the distinct privilege of meeting Don at Dragon*Con two years ago, and the genuine kindness of this man became a favorite memory of the trip. He was so happy to sit and chat with us, sign autographs and answer questions. A brilliant storyteller, consummate actor, and immeasurable footprint has been swept from us. May he be just on the other side of The Event Horizon, just waiting with smiles and jokes to share.

Please join us as we share clips from past convention panels, and some of our memories. We would also like to thank the listeners who have shared their stories with us (and you) as well. You can find the episode over at www.PodCulture.net.

Should you wish to, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Don’s memory.
