“The Incredible Hulk” Wins the Weekend

June 15, 2008 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

By the close of box office tonight it is estimated that Edward Norton’s vision of “The Incredible Hulk” will take home the first place prize for this weekend’s highest box office gross. While no where near the numbers of its previous two big competitors “Iron Man” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” Hulk’s numbers will still be impressive coming in at nearly $55 million.

M. Night Shyamalan’s first R-rated film “The Happening,” starring Mark Wahlberg will manage to hang in there a be part of the top 3 grossers, however, Jack Black’s animated fare titled “Kung Fu Panda” drops to the number 2 slot adding another $34 plus million to its phenomenal two-week stats of $118 million.

Rounding out the top 5 will be Adam Sandler’s comedy “You Don’t Mess with the Zohan” and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” with another $13.5 million added to its over $276 million total.

Stay tuned to Slice of SciFi for the full Final Top Ten Films for the Weekend. We’ll reveal those numbers on Tuesday.
