Director Chris Wedge’s (“Ice Age”) next big project will be to helm the Brian Selznick 2007 bestselling children’s novel “The Invention of Hugo Cabret.” GK Films and Johnny Depp’s Infinitum, along with Warner Bros. will produce and distribute the live-action product.
John Logan, noted for penning Martin Scorsese’s “The Aviator” will adapt the novel for the big screen. according to Variety.
The film revolves around an orphaned boy who secretly lives in the walls of a busy Paris train station and looks after the clocks. He gets caught up in a mystery adventure when he attempts to repair a mechanical man.
