hi, i’m ian and i listen to about 50 podcasts a week, with their own number of episodes being produced at varying frequencies…some are in audio and some are not. i’ve noticed that i cannot wait to click on your show while doing my work (i’m an architectural CAD technician btw).
the video was good but right now, i still prefer the audio.
this is just a suggestion…it would be a good idea if you guys did this in a form of a poker game or something… hearing you people on my player sounds like you guys are comfortable doing just have a geeked-out sitdown. NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. something like what would happen if we were all waiting for the bus to arrive and the topic of star trek popped up… we could all treat this as if the audience was just hearing your conversation over your shoulder… like you weren’t aware that there was a camera. this news-style reporting just doesn’t really fit the theme…
you could pop videos in anytime with your voice-overs and it would still be okay. try watching some of the 1UP.com podcast. see how casual the format and the feel that the show presents itself…they sometimes shoot theirs while walking to a convention or something just to change it up, but most of the time, they do it in their office environment…very immersing.
anyway, just a suggestion guys. i’m still a big fan of the show. more power!

I posted a comment on the YouTube site .. but I’ll make one here … Getting much better guys!
When you get a bit more comfortable you can actually LOOK at each other rather once in a while rather than stare at the teleprompter all the time 😉 (that was a “wink”)
On a more serious note .. if you do an interview you really need to look at the interviewee. A one or one like Larry King or even a two on one would be much better than everyone facing the camera. However this generally means more than one camera. Three would be ideal. Two would be OK, but one poses a problem.
You could shoot the interviewee *first* .. then, later with a transcript of the questions in hand, shoot yourselves (from the opposit angle)asking the questions. Finally, you’ll need to edit them all together.
Anyway .. it’s all a learning curve .. keep up the good work.

One good thing about Charlie Jade finally making it out to the US is that we might finally get to have the series released out on DVD in Region one.
