Blood Ties Fans Give Back

Blood Ties Fans Give Back

April 5, 2008 By Sam Sloan 11 Comments

Written by: Deb Neufell

Fans of the Lifetime original series “Blood Ties” have worked tirelessly in campaigning to save the show they love, but they have also used the campaign to help raise money for charity at the same time.

A total of $900 was raised to benefit The Best Friends Animal Society. This donation was made possible by the sale of custom-made campaign postcards, generous donations by the fans and five auctions for autographed photos of one of the show’s stars, Christina Cox.

Campaign organizers made the donation on behalf of the cast – Christina Cox, Kyle Schmid, and Dylan Neal – as a thank you from the fans for all of their hard work and dedication to the show. Best Friends helps animals all across the country.

If you’d like to make a donation or more information, please visit their website at: www.bestfriends.org

I’m extremely proud of everyone that took part in the things we organized to make that donation possible. It really shows the love fans have for the show and it’s cast.

Granted we have worked forever to bring our show back but I think the biggest thing that we can be proud of is that it united us to where we could do things to benefit others. So it really is much more than “just a TV show” to many of us. I’m really thankful it brought all of us together so we could do things like this. We love the show and the cast and we want to see them back on TV where they belong. Just think how many more projects we could do….

Once again Blood Ties fans prove that they are a group with a heart. In addition to fighting to save their beloved show, they also made sure that they gave to those less fortunate. Bravo, keep up the good fight.

Thanks so much for posting this Sam ! Shows backed back big networks often get the work of their show’s fans noticed. In the case of Blood Ties, the network that aired the series has not supported the series much less the fans. Not only is Blood Ties a fresh & original series, it’s fan base is composed of a wonderful group of people who have worked so hard to get the show noticed and renewed, while at the same time benefit others. As a huge supporter of animal rescue, I am so proud of the Blood Ties fans and hope the show will get the notice that it and it’s fans deserves !

Right now we are collecting eyeglasses to donate to the Lions Club, in the name of Blood Ties. Since the character of Vicky Nelson has RP we felt it was a good choice of charity. If anyone would like to join us just contact me or check out the Lifetime Message Board for Blood Ties. The ladies there will be happy to help you with any info you need. Thanks.

I’ve been working at this campaign for over 3 months now and its still worth ever hour spent on it. I just can’t give up as it really is one of the most capivating shows I’ve watched in years. So many storie are yet to be told in this series, the love has yet to blossom between Vicki and Henry fully, Astaroth needs to get his butt kicked back to hell etc etc.

Kudos for the Blood Ties fans! You are a wonderful bunch of people who deserve to get another season of the show. Lets hope that there are those out there that appreciate all you are doing and break open their hearts of stone to give an excellent show and cast the break they deserve!Your dedication and generous acts towards others needs to be held aloft like a banner and hung from the highest buildings to show everyone how it’s supposed to be done!I fully agree with assuit that the love between Vicki and Henry needs to come to its full potential and Astaroth gets his butt kicked in a big, bad way – Go the Good Guys!!!

Blood Ties has the most generous fans! Blood Ties is simply a wonderful series, that must find a way back to our TV’s. As Marty has said… start saving your old eyeglasses! and look for more information regarding the particulars soon. Blood Ties is a show with BITE and its fans want that back! GREAT JOB on the donation to Best Friends Animal society!
