A couple of weeks ago, Slice of SciFi reported that NBC had picked up the option for a full season of the new “Knight Rider.” We will also be talking about new NBC SF pickups on this weekend’s show as well.
Now comes the news that the series has picked up a new show-runner. Gary Scott Thompson, who recently produced NBC’s “Las Vegas,” has been tapped to take the seat as excutive producer and show runner reports The Hollywood Reporter.
Joining Thompson is another “Vegas” producer Matt Pyken. The duo will work with the team of Dave Bartis and Doug Liman, who produced the two-hour movie pilot for the series and Dave Andron, who wrote the pilot and has been promoted to a producer for the new series.
The group is hastily assembling a team of writers to begin penning scripts for the new show. The team wants to leave plenty of time for post-production of the series. According to reports, editing and post-production of the pilot was rushed to get the show onto the air.
There are also reports that some tweaks will be done to the series from the pilot. No word yet on specific changes that will be made to the series.

Could be good news. Some of the elements from the movie were…weak at best. So if they’re trying to build more time into the production schedule, that’s a good sign.
