I haven’t been keeping up with Flash, but the wife has. The bits of episode I’ve been catching lately, including last nights season finale, have definitely been a big improvement from where they started.
Are they still teleporting to and from that field in the middle of nowhere?

No, they “teleport” from different locations, sometimes it’s inside buildings. It depends on where they can create a rift.
