The end of the 3-month writer’s strike could be coming very soon. It is looking more and more like a deal has been struck between the WGA and AMPTP over compensation of internet and DVD revenue that could lead leaders of the WGA to call for an end to the strike as early as the end of this week.


Image Entertainment will be releasing the 18 episodes of the original William Shatner series “Tek Wars” on DVD in June here in the States. This set was only previously available in Canada by Koch.


While TV networks traditionally commission dozens of scripts for pilot episodes, only some are actually produced and far fewer turn into series. Now several studios say they will cut back on pilots. Read more HERE.


Trek To the Troops (TTTT) is offering group sales on weekends for the “Star Trek The Tour.” Interested parties should call their group sales number (800 840 1157) for significant discounts.

ALSO – regarding free tickets on weekends for people in alien costume, in order to do this in an organized fashion the first twenty five who respond to info@startrektour.com with the subject line “TEN FORWARD” will be placed on the guest list. Requests need to be received by the Thursday prior to the weekend they want to attend. and TTTT will notify each winner if they make the list.

“Star Trek The Tour” will be having a special day open to Military. Those in Uniform will receive free admission to “Star Trek The Tour” on Febuary 18th (Day after closed to the General Public) Those with Military ID (Not in Uniform) or Military Dependents can purchase tickets at a reduced rate.


This February has been declared as Klingon Love Month at Roddenberry.com! In celebration they have a spectacular set of Klingon related “happenings” on their site.


George Takei says as he travels the world, people always recognize him and smile. He’s better known as Star Trek’s Mr. Sulu, the helmsman on the Star Ship Enterprise, and later as Captain Sulu, the man in charge of the starship USS Excelsior. Takei was in the Twin Cities to host a Minnesota Orchestra concert of science fiction music. He told Minnesota Public Radio’s Euan Kerr there are important links between science fiction and music. Phantasmagoria is an annual, juried film festival held on the campus of The University of Toledo. Most submitted works are of the Science-Fiction/Fantasy or Horror genres, though other works are considered as well. Each year features competition in two categories: a movie trailer competition, and a short feature competition. Read more about the upcoming 2008 festival.
