Inspired by the popular SCI FI Channel program, “Who Wants To Be A Superhero?,” the event will serve the purpose of finding a mascot for the FX International Show that will be used in various promotions and travel opportunities in 2008. Contestants will be judged by Wasabi Anime staff, FX staff, and other “hero” consultants based on five criteria:

COSTUME — Is your hero’s costume worthy of the pages of an epic comic?.

INSTINCT — If posed with tough a decision, will you make the right one?

LEADERSHIP — Can you command the respect of your peers and the judges?

PERSONALITY — Are you NOT-boring?

THEME — Does your character appropriately represent the FX spirit?

The contest schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Saturday at 2:00 PM — All contestants must be on hand and in costume with an entry form and a completed “Hero Written Exam”. (Both will be available at the Wasabi Anime table).

Sunday at 1:00 PM – Contestants who survived Saturday’s trials return for a Q&A session to determine if he/she has what it takes to be a hero.

Sunday at 4:00 PM — Contestants return from their final trial to be judged with the winner to be announced on stage.
