Pine Talks Star Trek

December 31, 2007 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

chrispine_cohen_8568982_400.jpgThe young actor now sitting in the center seat once held by the iconic William Shatner, sat in the interview chair for Hollywood Today and talked Trek. Pine is starring as the legendary James T. Kirk for the 11th film in the famous Star Trek franchise.

“It’s a ‘Batman Begins,’” stated Pine. “You get the birth, the childhood and beginning of the main characters before the Five-Year Mission. That’s what is going to be great. You get a sense of where they came from and how they began. Plus, anyone who is a lover of big action films is going to love this.”

If the budget for this one is any indication ($150 million), then “Star Trek” from producer/director J.J. Abrams will certainly be a mega-action flick.

Speaking about the daunting task that J.J, and the cast are facing, and the monumental responsibility they have to stay true to the very core of Star Trek’s 40+ year legacy Pine said, “When you are attached to something of this scale, you have more attention on you than you’ve ever had before.” J.J. is able to make such a big experience seem small. You never get the sense that you are working on this grand event, you just focus on that scene,” Pine revealed from the very closed set of the film, currently shooting on location.

If JJA f-s this up, could we use that to get him removed from The Dark Tower?
