Eric Bana, the man who brought the Incredible Hulk back to life on the silver screen, and will be seen next December as the nefarious villain for the new Star Trek movie walked away with the top prize at the Australia Film Institute, that country’s equivalent of the Academy Awards.
Bana and actress Joan Chen were given top honors as best lead actor and actress.
Bana won the award for his performance in “Romulus, My Father,” a post World War II story about a migrant family living and dealing with isolation in the Australian outback.
Chen won her Best Actress award for her role in “The Home Song Stories,” in which she portrays a glamorous Shanghai nightclub singer who struggles to survive in 1970s Australia with two young children.
