“The Condemned” Lookalike Goes to SF TV

December 6, 2007 By Sam Sloan 2 Comments

The SCI FI Channel, that is quickly becoming sci-fi in name only, has ordered up a pilot for “Run for Money,” a new reality competition that will place contestants against one another for cash prizes as they are stalked by “hunters.”

The show will be based on the Japanese program, “Run for Money” and will be shot in real time at famous locations across the globe. The longer a contestant survives the hunt the harder the contest becomes.

Contestants earn money for every second they remain un-caught but have the option of backing out of the competition at anytime with current winnings intact. However, if they keep playing and are eventually trapped and captured by a hunter, they lose it all. Being trapped is considered a kill. The last person standing becomes the winner and walks away with top dollar.

The series begins production next month. God help us all!

How long before we get a real Running Man or Tenth Victim?

I can see some third world dictator setting up such a contest and putting it out on the internet.

And it’ll be one the most popular shows EVER! HBO will pick it up and then FOX will show the edited version later.
