Signed “Serenity” Poster Auction for LMS Research

Signed “Serenity” Poster Auction for LMS Research

December 6, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

As many of you know, Joe Murphy, our dear friend and co-worker here at Slice of SciFi and FarPoint Media died this year from a horrific condition called Leiomyosarcoma, a rare form of cancer.

Our good friends over at Whedonesque, working with Suzie Siegel, herself a survivor of lung surgery but still battling with Stage IV LMS, asked if she could offer up her exclusive Joss Whedon signed poster from the “Serenity” film and let the proceeds go to research into finding a cure for this dreaded cancerous condition that has taken Joe, and others from us all.

Instructions:
1. On a 3×5 card write one sentence about leiomyosarcoma.
2. On the same card, print your name, address, email address and phone number.
3. Although not necessary, IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU INCLUDE A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE CHECK made out to “LMSdr.”
4. Put the card and check (if you can afford to send one) into an envelope and mail it to:

Suzie Siegel

If you have any questions, email inquiries to lmsdr.org.

All cards must be received by March 1, 2008. Suzie will then draw a card at random and name the winner on the LMSdr site.

No one has entered who wants the poster! I’ve only gotten a few entries, all from people who want to support the research, but they have no interest in Serenity. Aren’t there ANY Browncoats who want to enter?!?

Huge Browncoat fan who would love to donate to your charity if the signed poster is still available. Has the poster already gone to a worthy fan.
looking forward to hearing from you
