The Dabel Brothers, publishers of the upcoming Dresden Files graphic novel, unveiled their new website today! Check out DabelBrothers.com
Dresden fans will delight in the fantastic batch of concept art images, featuring Harry, Murphy, Morgan, Marcone, Bianca, Carmichael, and Kalshazzak the Toad Demon.
The Website launch also coincided with a juicy new announcement: the Dabel Brothers have entered into a new distribution agreement with Del Rey, an imprint of Ballantine Books, to bring their products into the trade book market. In spring 2008, the popular literary comic book publisher will launch comic book adaptations of three major properties: New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein: Prodigal Son; Jim Butcher’s bestselling The Dresden Files; and George R.R. Martin’s Wild Cards. The graphic novel versions, to be distributed by Del Rey, will go on sale in the Summer/Fall of 2008.
The long-term arrangement will result in broader distribution for their graphic novels than they have had in the past, explains Ernst Dabel, President of Dabel Brothers Publishing. “While we will retain our autonomy and continue to operate as an individual company, we expect the Del Rey sales team to greatly expand our reach into such markets as libraries and independent bookstores.”
About Ballantine Books:
Ballantine Books currently releases graphic novels under the Villard, Ballantine, Del Rey and Del Rey Manga imprints. “Graphic novels are one of our fastest-growing areas of publishing,” commented Scott Shannon, Associate Publisher of Del Rey, Mass Market and Licensing. “Dabel Brothers Publishing produces quality work that deserves a wide audience and we’re pleased to be able to provide broader distribution for their projects.” The deal was negotiated by Del Rey Editor-in-Chief Betsy Mitchell.

This makes no sense. They can find an actual living, breathing, human being who looks like Harry, but nobody can draw one?
I don’t know. He’s pretty close to the early Harry Dresden from “Storm Front” just a little cleaner looking.
If that is Murphy in the background of the pic, they are doing a pretty good job on her. Much better than in the TV series.
I agree completely on the Murphy assessment. But, I always thought of Harry as the way the author describes him. Tall, lanky, wiry muscle. This guy looks like a tall body builder, not wiry at all.
WOW! This is going to be awesome! I absolutely cannot wait. I imagined Dresden to be a bit skinnier though. I hope to God that Bob’s in it. OHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASE have Bob in it, ghost or skull, I really don’t care as long as he’s in it.
Jim Butcher’s beginning says that they did Harry just as he had imagined him. But, I agree that he looks a lot more muscular than wiry.
Actually, if you read at the begining of the first one, there’s a foreword by Butcher, and he say that all the characters in the comics are drawn almost exactly how he imagined them.
Whoops, didn’t notice that you’d already said that. Got kinda carried away with my own rightous indignation and completely skipped the last few entries. Sorry.
Or it could just be the leather duster adding more to his build. He’s pretty lean compared to the average comic book hero :R
OMG!! I was so ecstatic when i found out there is a Dresden Files comic/graphic novel! The girl next to me started to get angry because i wouldnt stop squueeing. :} And i agree with fire doom caster. There better be BOB in the comic. I am going to huunt for this comic until i get it. I already have all the books and the TV series. again SQUEE!!!
