Actor Paul McGillion Is Our Guest on Slice of SciFi Show #129

October 3, 2007 By Sam Sloan Leave a Comment

mcgillp.jpgJoin us as we talk to Paul McGillion, best known as the late Dr. Carson Beckett of “Stargate: Atlantis” fame. He talks about working on the popular series, what it was like to come back from the dead for his special two-episode visit to the Pegasys Galaxy, and what lies in his future now that his stint on the series is over. Is there any truth to all the talk about his auditioning for the role of Scotty in the new J.J. Abrams Star Trek movie? You’ll have to listen in and see if he makes mention of it.

Some of Paul’s feature film credits include “The Deal,” “A Guy Thing” with Julia Stiles and Jason Lee, “A Cooler Climate” with Sally Field, “Jack” and”See Grace Fly” for which Paul was nominated for the 2004 Leo Award’s Best Lead Male for his heart wrenching performance as Dominic McKinley.

Television shows include lead and guest starring roles on “Davinci’s Inquest”, “Cold Squad”, “Smallville”, “Stargate SG1”, “The Twilight Zone”, and “The X-Files”.

Paul has also done stage performances in such productions as “The Foreigners”, “Piano”, “Savage in Limbo”, “El Salvador”, and the Jessie nominated “Reservations for Two” which McGillion also produced and directed to rave reviews.

Our three opening news stories all deal with the latest tech issues that will definitely affect our daily lives now and in the not-to-distant future.

Movie Talk takes a look at “Ghosts in the Orphanage” and India action star Celina Jailtley’s new epic adventure “The Quest of Scheherzade.”

TV news showcases Star Trek alum Nichelle Nichols’ upcoming debut on the NBC hit show “Heroes” and how she fits in with the Niki Saunders family. That famous castaway Robinson Crusoe finds refuge on television with a new NBC series.

If you’re feeling a little “Walled In” then Future Talk is a must this week. We also take a gander at “Ark,” the new CGI animated big screen film that takes a look at the fabled Noah’s Ark from the animal’s perspective.

Paul McGillion, special segments and the latest on our “1408” and “The 4400” DVD Giveaway Contests. Be sure to tune-in, download and listen to Slice of SciFi Show #129 ready for you this Saturday, October 6, 2007.
