Why isn’t Sigourney Weaver on this list?

Just so everyone knows: I tried to keep the list down to actresses that when their names come up, generally the first thing you think of is an action role they did or are currently involved in. There are others who could have fit in here, but for the sake of space, were left off. For instance: Halle Barry, Tia Carrera, Lucy Liu and so forth. Hopefully, most will agree that when you think of the ladies listed, their action roles are the first that come to mind over other types of characters they have portrayed.

Halle Berry would have been a waste of time to add anyway right? Her acting is just downright awful, at best.

Voted Katie Sackhoff here. Love her as Starbuck, but love her even more in Bionic Woman so far.

I, too am missing Diana Rigg as Emma Peel on the list. She’s the only one I would vote for.

so i voted but i think this poll is accessed by proxies because i don’t know how some of these weird no name chicks are getting hundreds of votes and chicks i recognize have barely anything. and where’s the chick from Buffy? i would have voted for her for action hero out of the small screen options.

I’m not sure I’d label Claudia Black, Amanda Tapping or Summer Glau as “no name chicks.”

Claudia — Farscape, Pitch Black, Queen of the Damned, Xena, Princess Warrior, Stargate SG-1, Stolen Life

Amanda Tapping — Sanctuary, Stargate: Atlantis, Stargate SG-1, Millennium, Forever Knight, Earthsea, X-Files

Summer Glau — Firefly, Serenity, The 4400, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Cold Case, The Initiation of Sarah, C.S.I. Crime Scene Investigation, Angel

Yeah…..not exactly no names now are they?

    Amanda Tapping is scifi Queen.
Think being in the longest running Scifi tv series counts for a great deal. She is number 1, without a doubt!

Stargate SG-1 isn’t scifi’s longest series. SciFi picked it up after Showtime got rid of it after 5 seasons, because this quite mediocre actually show wasn’t bringing the new audience to the channel, they’ve got new blood of audience at SciFi and somehow, besides RDA’s terrible DUMBJack managed to survive for another 3 years. The show really started being interesting to watch and much better, when Claudia Black, Ben Browder and Beau Bridges joined the cast. I’d say Claudia Black is the real queen of SciFi (The Dresden Files is another series she guest starred in earlier this year), Vala and Daniel (Michael Shanks) are the most wonderful couple in Stargate SG-1’s 10 years history.

I have to agree with Sam – Claudia, Summer and Amanda have done some tremendous work. If you haven’t checked out shows like Farscape, Firefly & SG-1 I would recommend it. Summer Glau was fantastic in Serenity – I guess she did something like 90% of her own stunts in that movie.

I thought Firefly was one of the best shows on television and Farscape is another one of my favorites.

If you’re a Buffy fan, Firefly and Serenity were also produced by Joss Whedon.

Well said, Farscapefan! I had glimpsed SG-1 over the yeras but it never caught my interest until, bored in a mountain cabin, there was some kind of marathon and I fell in love with the Vala character and the Vala/Daniel relationship. The characters of seasons 9 and 10 (+ SGA’s McKay) are so much richer in personality and humour. ^^

    I also agree with sam!
Claud is most definatly not a ‘no name chick’ neither is Summer and Amanda really..
Farscape is probably one of my all time favourite shows, (Thanx to Ben and Claud!!!) and them coming to stargate made it a hell of a lot better, Not that it wasn’t already awesome, the awesomeness just increased!!! LOL
Though it was a hard choice cause there are so many awesome actress’ on the list Claud definalty gets my vote!!!!!!

Claudia Black is the most awsome woman on tv, she is the epitome of sexy without being trashy. I think she is most deserving of a major part in a show once she has time after the baby. But I also wish all the SG1 cast the best with there careers if we can’t have them running through the gate anymore.

I have to agree with a lot of the posters. Claudia Black is definitly a great actress. I had pretty much stopped watching Stargate until they introduced Vala’s character, and even then I focussed mainly in the episodes she was in.

Can I just say to farscape fan, with Ben and Claudia joining Stargate, the series was doomed to be axed., just like farscape! Browder is an awful actor and is no where in RDA or Tapping’s league. By the way Stargate SG1 is in the Guiness book of Records as the longest running Scifi series. Didn’t see Farscape get anywhere near Stargate. And no, Claudia doesn’t hold a light to Amanda Tapping!

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but to say Browder is an awful actor is a bit harsh. I’ve seen some shows where Tapping was just plain …well, awful.

I enjoyed Farscape – at least that show dealt with the issue of everyone speaking English. (And I like SG-1.)

I enjoyed SG-1 for a while, but when RDA got tired of the role, he let it show. He didnt want to be there, and was tired of it. The whole show went downhill for years, but it perked back up once Ben and Claudia got on.

Now Farscape, I really enjoyed, I’m glad they had such a good cast to carry it off.

I didnt find another show I really enjoyed like that till Heroes, which is fun. Wonder if we can get Claudia to guest on that?

Claud and Ben Rule!!! I am yet to find anyone else i find even as half as entertaining as those two!!

Claudia Black has been in a few movies, what movies has Amanda Tapping been in? That’s right, none worth mentioning!

Tapping is a tedious actor, its a disgrace that she got Torri Higginson fired from Atlantis so she could replace her.

If Amanda was a good actor, she would have gotten roles other than Stargate, and no, a web-based series produced by some of the Stargate crew does not count
