Jessica Biel — Wonder Woman?

September 25, 2007 By Sam Sloan 6 Comments

245948jessica-biel-posters.jpgAs strange as this idea may sound to some hard-core Wonder Woman fans, actress Jessica Biel (“The Illusionist”) is in talks to play the lasso-weilding wonder lass in the upcoming Warner Bros./DC Comics “Justice League of America” big screen, live-action film.

“Justice,” which is penned by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney, could help ramp up a Wonder Woman spinoff, according to “Variety.”

The proposed “Wonder Woman” flick has been on again/off again for quite some time. Joss Whedon (“Firefly”/”Serenity”) was on tap to direct the stand alone “Wonder Woman” feature but has since dropped off the project citing creative differences with the film’s producer Joel Silver.

Official word at this time from Warner Bros. is Christian Bale (Batman) and Brandon Routh (Superman) will NOT be featured in their respective roles in the “Justice League of America” movie. The movie is currently looking at a 2010 release date, depending on how talks between the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers (AMPTP) and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) go. Any strike by the WGA could postpone the release.

Whew! For a second there I thought this story was about the WW movie, but it’s just about the Justice League movie, which never come to fruition in its currently projected form. What a relief! 😀
