Yesterday, we updated the story about Glen Morgan’s departure from the upcoming NBC series “Bionic Woman.” We also reported the show may be taking a break to “retool” a bit (they have currently filmed five episodes).
TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello is reporting that one of the masterminds being brought in to help retool the show is Jason Katims. Katims is currently the executive producer of NBC’s “Friday Night Lights” and will reportedly split time between both NBC shows. Katims is probably best known to sci-fi/fantasy fans for his work on the WB-series “Roswell” (which had a writer by the name of Ron Moore on the staff…maybe you’ve heard of him?).
Katims pulled double duty last year, working on “Lights” and also writing and producing FOX’s short-lived “Wedding Bells.”
Katims’ joining “Bionic” is good news. As a fan of “Roswell” and “Friday Night Lights” I can say that his scripts for both shows have been among the most consistent and entertaining for both shows. His helping to guide “Bionic Woman” through this transition is good news for the show.
“Bionic Woman” begins its run on Wednesday, September 24 at 9 p.m EST on NBC.
