It looks like fans of the Halloween film franchise are happy with director Rob Zombie’s remake of the classic John Carpenter movie Halloween.
So far, over this three day Labor Day Weekend, it has scored the highest box office total for this holiday since records started being kept. Currently the film has garnered $26.5 million with several hours still on tap before the box office windows in the 4100 screens it’s being shown on shut down for the night.
It will be interesting to see if the overall take of the movie will match or pass that of Carptenter’s original. That 1978 film grossed over $140 million during its full theatrical run. For inflation stricken 1978 that was a lot of dollars.
For the most part critical response to the film has been good. We hope to have a review from our friends over at MoviePulse soon.

I gotta disagree with the critical respones. Everywhere I look, the respones is horrible, infact its imbarrassing. People are tearing this movie apart. I haven’t seen the film, but I understand why its bad. Rob Zombie is a terrible director. Thats just my opinion on Zombie, but its a right opinion, lol.
Rottentomatos.com has it at a 22% with 39 bad reviews out of 50 reviews.
