This just in from the Hollywood beat. The talks with Harvey Keitel’s people have collapsed. He was in negotiation to replace the absent Mandy Patinkin on the CBS crime thriller “Criminal Minds.”
Now veteran actor Joe Mantegna will take over for Mandy with the introduction of an all new character for the show.
CBS is currently being mum on the full details of the transaction but, Variety is reporting that “Criminal Minds” showrunner Ed Bernero confirmed the casting over the weekend on the Criminal Minds Fanatic blog.
If the producers were unable to get Keitel then Mantegna is certainly a worthy catch and will add validity and a certain amount of real class to the show.
