Several weeks ago we told you that the rumor on the “24” series backlot was that agent Jack Bauer’s new presidential boss would be a woman. Now it’s no longer rumor but fact and the actress who Bauer will be answering to for season seven of the acclaimed Fox series is Tony Award-winning actress Cherry Jones who will play President Allison Taylor.
“24” has been one of the network’s highest rated shows with consistent numbers for six straight seasons. Fox’s other two ratings bigwigs are the juggernaut known as “American Idol” and the award winning “House.”
“24” centers on federal agent Jack Bauer, portrayed by Emmy winning actor Kiefer Sutherland and follows him in real-time as he fights terrorism and other threats within America’s borders.
The seventh season of “24” will commence in January 2008.
