Slice of SciFi begins its new air date this week on Saturday, June 30, 2007 with “Blood Ties” producer Peter Mohan and is brought to you by Audible.com. Peter is also one of the writers who has taken the highly successful Tanya Huff book and adapted it for television for the Lifetime Cable Network. Currently he is responsible for penning 22 episodes of the show. “Blood Ties” is a unique 21st Century detective tale of a private investigator and her 500 year old vampire lover.

Well versed in the scifi/fantasy and horror genre, some of Peter’s other credits as producer and writer include — Mutant X, Relic Hunter, Myth Quest, Code Name: Eternity, Escape From Mars, Le Femme Nikita and the Highlander TV series.

In the News:
Online media sparks big entertainment industry growth by tapping into what is being termed “convergent platforms.” Barry Josephson is set to produce a film adaptation of Michael Buckley’s children book series ‘The Sisters Grimm.” Britain’s BBFC put the breaks on the distribution of the video game “Manhunt 2.”

Movie Talk:
Walt Disney is looking to change its slant on it’s traditional approach to the fairy tale with “Enchanted,” a fractured tale that is a combination old-school animation, new CGI technology and live-action.

Because we had so much content to cover for this show there will be no trivia, movie review or game cube but fear not, the Special Segment will return for the next program.

TV Talk:
We have “Heroes,” “Heroes,” and more “Heroes” news this week. Six more new talented actors will be added to NBC’s hit show as regular cast members for Season Two of the highly popular television show…..and, Missy Peregem makes the jump from “Heroes” and NBC to the CW Network where she will be one of the main characters for the new SF show “Reaper.”

Future Talk:
The crystal ball was murky for this segment which is evident for what Hollywood has in store for movie goers over the next year or so, at least with the two films we will be talking about.
Jack Black is a male witch in a comedy called “Man-Witch.” We all know Jack is better than this and can only hope his talent will save this one from the cauldron of mediocrity. Director Walt Becker is getting John Travolta and Robin Williams together for a sequel to the surprise hit “Wild Hogs,” in this new film called “Old Dogs.”

We also want to remind you about our two currently running contests. The Godzilla giveaway is offering two lucky winners a DVD each. One lucky winner will get a copy of “Ghidorah the 3-headed Monster,” and another winner will receive a DVD of “Invasion of Astro-Monster,” aka, “Godzilla vs Monster Zero.” In our other contest we have 3 DVD’s of MST3K-11. That’s right, Mystery Science Theater: Volume 11 will go to 3 lucky winners in this contest. For full details click on the images located in the upper left-hand corner of our homepage in the Contest Section.

We’ve got Peter Mohan, great news and information about the entertainment industry, your favorite movies and television shows, and we’re giving good stuff away. Who could ask for more? So, be sure to join us on our new broadcast day, Saturday — It’s Slice of SciFi Show #115, June 30, 2007.
