“Mars” Actor Moonlighting

June 28, 2007 By Sam Sloan 2 Comments

jason-dohring.jpgLOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – “Veronica Mars” veteran Jason Dohring has joined the cast of CBS’ new vampire drama “Moonlight.”

Alex O’Loughlin stars as a private investigator who happens to be a vampire. Dohring will play ancient vampire Josef. He replaces 60-year-old Rade Serbedzija, who played the part in the pilot presentation before the character was reconceptualized as a young, mischievous hedge-fund trader.

Dohring, who played Veronica Mars’ (Kristen Bell) on-and-off boyfriend Logan on the critically praised CW drama, is the second new addition to “Moonlight” cast, along with recently cast Sophia Myles.

I suppose we could always move the location of the show to Toronto and call it Forever Knight – oh wait – they did that already.

I don’t care if it rips off a little Forever Knight. I was a fan of that show too, but it’s been over ten years since it aired. This isn’t an exact copy anyway.

But, I really wasn’t looking forward to watching it until I heard Jason Dohring had been cast. Excellent choice!
