Producer Nina Jacobson and DreamWorks will be bringing the British children’s book series, “The Children of the Lamp” to the big screen, and screenwriter Lee Hall has been chosen to adapt the books for the film.
The book series follows the adventures of a family of genies, also known as djinn. They can pass for humans but have the ability to grant wishes to anyone.
The books from author P.B. Kerr have been very popular among fantasy lovers. The first three have sold over 1 million copies internationally. The fourth in the series, “The Day of the Djinn Warrior,” will be on book shelves this coming September.
