“Unity” Snags Carley

June 24, 2007 By S. K. Sloan Leave a Comment

“Star Trek: Unity,” a new fan audio Star Trek presentation has landed a big fish to take part in this new fan produced endeavor. Actor and Special Effects guru Kurt Carley, familiar to Star Trek fans as Captain Christopher Pike in the “Star Trek: New Voyages” episode ‘In Harms Way,’ has signed on to provide his voice talent to this new online show.

Kurt is an accomplished actor and has been seen in such films as the two werewolf movies, “Underworld” and “Underworld: Evolution,” and most recently appeared in M.Night Shyamalan’s the “Lady In The Water.” Some of his television work has been guest stints on NBC’s hit series “The West Wing,” and several roles on “Special Unit 2,” just to name a few. Kurt will also be appearing in New Voyage’s latest entry “World Enough and Time,” with Star Trek icon George Takei. Kurt’s most memorable role was one in which nobody even saw his face, but captured the attention of the whole world. He played the Predator in the critically praised fan film “Batman: Dead End.” Film director Kevin Smith has called this Batman fan production “possibly the truest, best Batman movie ever made.”

“I am thrilled to be working with Kurt on Star Trek: Unity’s first episode ‘Disunity,'” stated Tanveer Naseer, one of the producers of the series. “I think many Star Trek fans are eager to see Kurt make his return to the Star Trek universe and his performance in ‘Disunity’ will live up to that anticipation.”

This first episode of “Star Trek: Unity,” which is also directed by Naseer, is expected to launch online sometime before the end of the year.

We hope to have a website interview with Tanveer in the very near future. For more details on this latest fan production you can visit the “Star Trek: Unity” official Website.
