Live-Action “City of Heroes”

June 7, 2007 By Sam Sloan 5 Comments

Tom DeSanto is done with “Transformers” but he’s not done with taking a non movie concept and turning it into a feature motion picture. His next major deal is to take the video game “City of Heroes” and make it a big screen production.

After he turns the multiplayer online game into a film he has plans to move it over to television has a series.

“You haven’t seen a big superheroes vs. aliens movie,” DeSanto says. “I see this as the next big superhero franchise.”

I can’t wait to see how they portray police and civilians running away from the bad guys waving their hands over their heads like scared little children.

Wouldn’t it be funny if they chose to keep it as a game on the show? The characters would talk like the people do ingame – costume contests under Atlas, characters talking leet-speak, TV characters that grind for XP and talk about “bubbles til their next level.” The episode could start with people “looking for group for ___.”

Unfortunately, it would probably only be funny/entertaining to people who’ve played …

It would only be fun to people who’ve played, but it would be god damn funny at that.
