We’ve talked about them for months and now Fox has officially given the thumbs up for the debut of two new SF television programs for their 2007-08 season……so catch them soon after they premiere on the network because this is scifi and it’s on Fox, so they may not last long.
“New Amsterdam,” from Regency TV, tells the story of a homicide cop that is hiding something important: He is a very, very old man. Originating from the middle ages, he now inhabits the 21st Century and spends his time solving crimes. Oh, and just to make it interesting, he is trying to find a way to put a stop to his seemingly endless existence.
The other show is one we have been really looking forward to because it’s potential is limitless. “The Sarah Connor Chronicles” will star Lena Headey as the character made famous by Linda Hamilton in the first two Terminator movies. The show will take place between the events of films 2 & 3 and focus on Sarah as she attempts to stop the futuristic robotic terminators as they attempt to kill her young son, John Connor. “Serenity/Firefly” actress Summer Glau will co-star as one of those Terminators.
Michael in Nashville says
Of course, FOX already plans to show both series out of order…
Kurt says
And cancel them within 20 minutes of airing.
