Morena Baccarin Is Our Guest for Slice of SciFi Show #107

April 29, 2007 By Sam Sloan 5 Comments

On this week’s Slice of SciFi show #107, airing Wednesday, May 2, 2007 the actress Morena Baccarin star of “Firefly,” “Serenity” and Stargate SG-1″ is our special guest.

Morena played the role of Inara Serra, the high priced companion on the TV show “Firefly” and the follow-up big screen sequel “Serenity.” She currently stars as Adria, the human-Ori hybrid daughter of Vala on “Stargate SG-1.” She also provided the voice of Black Canary for the animated television series “Justice League.”

The beautiful and talented Morena Baccarin talks about her evil Stargate character, what is in store for her once SG-1 ends its run this summer and what it was like working so closely with the legendary Joss Whedon. The big question is: Will she be the next Wonder Woman? Find out if we even talk about this topic with her. You won’t want to miss this one.

In the News:
Robot Chicken, from the Cartoon Network, will be spoofing Star Wars in a special feature for the cable channel and the big news is George Lucas and Mark Hamill are on board for the project. “Sanctuary,” the highly anticipated online scifi webisodes starring Amanda Tapping will finally get its debut on May 14. One activist group is protesting the U.S. Department of Health and Human Service’s decision to use Shrek as a spokesperson in the anti-obesity drive for children in America. Why is this group upset? Because they say, the big, fat, green ogre with a diet that is less than acceptable is a very poor role model for overweight kids.

Movie Talk:
Two out of the three villains appearing in “Spider Man 3” speak out about how great it was working for Sam Raimi and what it was like sitting in a makeup chair for four hours to get a 5 minute take. Topher Grace, who stars as Venom and Thomas Hayden Church speak openly about the blast it was on the set of the next installment of the web-slinging franchise.

TV Talk:
The long awaited and highly anticipated Canadian/German co-op show “Ice Planet” starring the great Michael Ironside and German actor Ralf Bauer has had its draft released on its official website. We first reported this new concept to you way back in September 2006. The series has been nearly 6 years in the making. The full series is now scheduled for Fall 2007.

Special Segment:
Doug is back with another three trivia clips for Slice of Trivia, and these are somewhat tough.

What’s In the Future?
It’s finally time for that long overdue trip back to the dawn of the Third Age of Mankind. The eagerly awaited first movie in “The Lost Tales” Babylon 5 series will be out on DVD July 31, 2007.
