On the SCI FI Summer Calendar

April 28, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 3 Comments

The SCI FI Channel has plans to make the Summer of 2007 a great one for genre fans.

Debuting on August 10 will be the all new “Flash Gordon” series with Eric Johnson starring in this updated version of the famed space traveller.

Also on tap is a new weekly investigative series called “Destination Truth.” It stars Josh Gates and follows his journey across the globe as he searches out the unexplained. Sounds like Fox Mulder Meets Leonard Nimoy. It will premiere on June 6.

British mentalist Derren Brown is bringing a new show to the cable channel on July 25 (no title yet), those “Ghost Hunters” return on the same night as “Destination Truth,” with a new season of “Who Wants To Be A Superhero” sharing the night with Brown’s new program.

The really great news is the return of the third season of “Doctor Who” on July 6 and “Eureka’s” second season begins on July 10.

On the USA Network this June be looking for the return of “The 4400” and “The Dead Zone.” “Psych” returns in July.

With this kind of excitement on the small screen there is no reason to burn in that hot sun.

I’m really looking forward to new Eureka and 4400. Doctor Who S3 has already started and it’s excellent; the new Companion might just be better than Rose was.

I’ve been watching DW series 3, too. I’m really enjoying it. Of course, I’m a huge David Tennant fan!:)

Perhaps J. Michael Straczynski’s Apocalypse Al will finally air this summer.
