The man behind some of those ridiculously slapstick comedies like “Happy Gilmore” and “Waterboy” grew up a little in the dramedy “Click.” Then he showed he could be a really serious actor in the post 9/11 feature “Reign Over Me.” Now Adam Sandler is back to comedy, only this one will be geared for the family and comes from a joint venture between Sandler’s Happy Madison Production company and Disney Pictures.
In “Bedtime Stories” Sandler plays an upper-income, upwardly mobile and totally burnt-out real estate developer who is trying to juggle his hectic career with his family responsiblities while starting to fail at both.
However, something is about to turn his entire life topsy-turvy when the bedtime stories he relates to his niece and nephew begin to invade the reality in his everyday life.
“Bedtime Stories” will be directed by “Hairspray” helmer Adam Shankman. Look for it this Summer on July 20.
