You’ve seen the banner on our Website, you’ve heard us talk about it on our weekly Slice of SciFi show and by now you should know that there is no other acceptable television than VH1’s new online/tv video feature AcceptableTV.
Sort of YouTube-ish/SNL-esc, “Acceptable TV” is a new interactive sketch show created by Jack Black, Channel 101 and VH1 that gives television and online viewers several days to tell how they feel about fan and pro created video shows and skits. The short sketches are performed by an ensemble group of actors and comedians. The audience can praise or lambast the entries all they want.
Here’s how it works:
You can WATCH short, funny shows on TV and on the Web. You can VOTE for the shows you’d like to see more of. You can CREATE new shows, vote for them, and see them on TV.
WATCH:
Every week, VH1 starts with episodes from five Acceptable.tv shows. Watch them on TV, watch them on the web, watch ’em on your fancy phone. We don’t care how you watch, just so long as you do watch.
VOTE:
The power belongs to you! Vote for your two favorite shows and keep your fingers crossed. There can be only one two (sorry, Highlander). VH1’s crack team of hyper-intelligent chimpanzees will tally the votes. Every Friday night, the two winning shows will be back with new episodes, joined by three new shows.
CREATE:
You too can submit your own created sketch for consideration by Jack and crew. Go to Acceptable.tv or the free download from iTunes for full details and tutorial videos that can show you how it’s done and what executive producer/actor Jack Black is looking for.
So, Watch Acceptable.TV, Fridays at 10/9C on VH1! It’s that easy.
