Zack Snyder’s run-a-way hit movie “300,” based on the Frank Miller graphic novel, held on to the number one box office slot this weekend with no problem keeping all usurpers of the throne at bay.
The action-adventure film brought in another estimated $31 million dollars since Friday raising its total since release one week ago to an impressive $128 million
The figures at this point are only estimated, but “300” is so far ahead of the pack that any fear of it loosing its grip on the number one slot is not well founded.
The remaining top five films are:
“Wild Hogs” continues to hang on to second bringing in another estimated $19 million, raising its total to another impressive $104 million. Despite the poor reviews from critics, Sandra Bullock’s SF venue “Premonition” overtook “Bridge of Terabithia” and is now in third, the horror/slasher film “Dead Silence” owns fourth place with the Chris Rock film, “I Think I Love My Wife” soundly in fifth place. This was Rock’s first attempt as a film’s writer, director, producer and star, and it appears to be getting good numbers.
