Shanks On “24”

March 15, 2007 By Sam Sloan 5 Comments

m_shanks_bio.pngIt hasn’t taken Stargate SG-1 star Michael Shanks long to find new work. His ten year stint (with a short hiatus part way through the series) as part of the SG-1 team will come to an end after the conclusion of Season Ten of the iconic SF series this summer.

It now appears that Michael has signed for a recurring role on the hit FOX Network series, “24” which stars Emmy winner Kiefer Sutherland as agent Jack Bauer.

This could eventually lead to a big screen opportunity for Shanks as “24,” currently in its sixth season, has been slated for at least two more seasons on television, with plans already in the works for a feature film in the show’s future.

That’s assuming that Shanks’ character survives. Outside of Jack, everyone on 24 is pretty much wearing a red-shirt.

A ’24’ movie – wow that will be long !

Talk about a dawn to dusk and then dawn again !

I was curious what a 24 movie would be. Two hours in real time? Ergo, 1/11 of a season’s plot? Or else it’s just another action movie and not really “24”, although I kind of doubt that that whole real time thing is still in action.

Regardless, yay Michael! Non-nerds shall know your face!

They’ve already said the “24” movie will not be in real-time, but it will use characters from the TV series.

CURSES!!! I have to watch “24” now. I’ve successfully avoided another obsession for 6 years and now I’m strong armed into watching it. Sigh. What I do for you, Michael S.
