“Jericho” Waiting On Word for Season Two

March 8, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 9 Comments

The CBS SF series “Jericho” has done incredibly well in its infamous timeslot since its return from the show’s mid-season hiatus. It is up against Fox’s juggernaut “American Idol” but, unlike the competition on NBC and ABC, “Jericho” has been holding its own.

“Idol” is now so pervasive in American culture that ABC had to move its Emmy winning SF hit show “Lost” to a later timeslot on Wednesday nights just to ensure the series wouldn’t get blood-let by the singing competition program.

CBS opted to hang in there with its hit show and left it going ‘mano-o-mano’ against the Fox ratings hog and after the dust has settled, “Jericho” is still standing, a little bloody-nosed, but still strong and ready to go another round.

Hopefully that will bode well for the nuclear holocaust show as network execs decide within the next few weeks on whether they will pick up “Jericho” for a second season. We are hoping they are smart enough to see HIT SHOW when it’s staring them in the face.

If you are a fan of the show, drop CBS a line and let them know how you feel about it.

I never miss JERICHO! It is my favorite show after HOUSE.
I adore Gerald McRaney and Skeet Ulrich is doing a great job. I loved the scenes between Skeet and McRaney last night. The last scene brought a tear to my eye. GREAT acting by both actors.
I sure hope it gets picked up for several more seasons.
It’s exciting and lots of fun. McRaney eases the tension with his funny little remarks.

I was sitting on the fence with this one, but the last couple of shows have been great and I hope they keep going strong.

I’m glad it’s doing well and hope that it comes back. After Heroes, Jericho is one of the few shows that I try not to miss.

I hope CBS doesn’t have their blinders on with this one – Jericho is a story that really hits close to home with the TV crowd of 2007 – It’s definately the number one show on TV today! A couple of tips CBS – Move the plot along just a bit faster – you’ve done better at this in the last few episodes, add a tad little more steam (somebody has got to be getting freaky SOMEWHERE in Jericho), and finally – don’t do the whole half season break thing again. That did nothing but annoy me, waiting for Jericho to “return”
