Slice of SciFi #97: Voicemail Show

February 27, 2007 By Summer Brooks 9 Comments

This is the show for our fans and listeners! We’re receiving so much voicemail and email feedback commentary that we can’t even fit all of it into it’s own show anymore. But that’s okay… Keep it coming!

Michael, Evo, Brian, Joe and Tim juggle this week’s selection of voicemails!

Submitting Listener comments: If you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know. You can now leave a voicemail comment in the comments section of the show, or call, or email Michael with a comment you’ve recorded yourself!

On a positive note, the show sounded great. The flow was good and the banter witty. That the file dissapeared is a minor issue.

anyone else think that Ted Sprague in Heroes looks a whole lot like the Geico Cavemen?

OK, never using the #)$*Q)&% cell phone again. In case you missed it (I know I did) I was trying to say, check out the videos on the http://www.scifi.com/battlestar page. All the “extended scenes” from the second half of the season are there. Including a really funny scene between Dualla and Geata discussing how often Madam President seems to visit the Galactica and do you suppose. . .

But the real gem is a little music video called “New Crew In Town.” Also found on Youtube – just search Galactica New Crew.

And as to Ron Moore’s podcasts – while I hesitate to suggest any of your add yet another podcast — they are not so much podcasts as the comentary tracks for the episodes distributed in podcast form. Really. Cleaned up a bit, the podcasts for season 2 are pretty much the comentary tracks on the DVDs.

Plus some added features that I don’t think make it to the DVDs, being audio only. Such as the three plus hour podcast of the breaking our of “Scar” in the writer’s room. And the almost as long roundtable discussion in Moore’s Vancouver apartment with Moore, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tahmoh Pennikett, some buddy of Bamber’s from back home, and an actor who is, apparently, going to play Baltar’s lawyer in the last episodes of season 3, and some other folks, talking about where Galectica has been, where it’s going, and where the actors think it should go. Fuled by some fine single malt, as I recall.

Lol Keith… now that you mentioned it, he does.

The coolest thing about the dvds: extended pegasus ep. It fleshout the show without it seeming longer than a regular ep to me.

There really is a lot of content for the fans at the SciFi site for BSG. I have been listening to the podcasts and watching Eick’s video blogs for some time now. Lots of little nuggets for the fan-girl or boy.

    re: star wars re-re-re-release

I agree, people need to stop being the suckers and keep buying those fricken DVD re-issues.

Not with just SW but with all movies that seem to use this gimmick, this crap just needs to stop.

if you actually ever get the Zombie Channel up & running I wouldn’t mind finally seeing this little gem:

We just had a conversation about that very subject tonight. TZC is on track, and getting closer. There is a lot of work to be done to make the channel work. Stick with me. It’ll be worth it. 😉
