February 23, 2007 By Sam Sloan 9 Comments

Submitted by: Kyle Nin (SoSF Staff Reporter)

6degrees.jpg“Six Degrees,” ABC Television’s on/off again TV show from J.J. Abrams is on again. It will return with all new episodes to the alphabet network in a different timeslot, on Friday nights beginning March 23, 2007.

The series stars an ensemble cast that includes Jay Hernandez, Bridget Moynahan, Erika Christensen, Dorian Missick, Campbell Scott and Hope Davis.

“Six Degrees” centers around this band of New York City characters who are total strangers to one another, but whose lives become interconnected in some mysterious way so that every decision made or action taken has some major effect on all their lives. Over time, this same mysterious force begins drawing them all together.

Come on dude, I get irritated by some of the more frequent phrases these guys n gals use…but i’d never refer to them the way you did. They do a bunch of free shows that offer hours of entertainment each week, offer up an informative RSS feed and website and you bring it all down with “f***wits” & “stupid”

    Don’t read..don’t listen. Easily fixed.

Yes, I edited that comment away. It was uncalled for, and dammit, I can indeed have you replaced with a very small shell script.

Spork, diss us all you want if that’s what makes your life warmer and fuzzier, but I will remove any comments containing profanity, unless there’s something of value that an edit can preserve.

If Slice of SciFi doesn’t make your life warmer and fuzzier these days, you are free to find another free show and another free website that will make you warm and fuzzy. You can then live your life happier, knowing that that, for a while, you did your best to enlighten all us idiots, but you decided to walk away the winner. Then we’ll all continue living life, leaving each other alone for the rest of the process.

And I really hate to blast your preconceptions, but do a Google News search on “alphabet network” and count how many “real” news outlets still use the term to refer to ABC… I see over 300, and that’s just for the past 5 days. So it’s not just us, and I’m sorry if you thought it was.

You didn’t used to be so pissy… some of your comments before November were amusing, and sometimes witty.

Let’s see…I’m 58 years old. We got our first TV in 1951. It was a small 10 inch black and white. ABC, aka the American Broadcast Network was formed in 1943, before the advent of television viewing and was a radio/news outlet. It was called the alphabet network from its inception in 1943 and that carried over into its television debut as well.

So knowing a little bit about the history of a thing certainly would bode well before making comments Mr. Spork. I’m old enough to not only know the history behind a lot of news and entertainment, but have lived through it as well, and certainly try to do my homework before writing or editing stories we present here on SoSF. And, while a mistake will slip through from time to time, it is a rarity. But, even if a mistake is made in a story, as happens even at NBC, CBS, ABC (the alphabet network) and FOX, that kind of pissy, disrespectful response is uncalled for.

I thought “Six Degrees” was already cancelled. Hmm, I guess not.

Kyle, you submitted me the story…all I did was my job of verification and editing your content. 😉

Yeah, I know. I meant that I thought it was cancelled before I saw the original article.

Okay, so I was wrong that you aren’t the only bunch of boneheads to call it the alphabet network. But, between Mike’s “(love, read, watch, etc…) to death” comments and the near constant “across the pond” horse crap, I’ve lost my patience with your amateurish tomfoolery. You should know better by now.

If we are so offensive to you, why continue to waste your time and energy with us?

Life is too short for that.
