It looks like Aaron Eckhart may be getting ready to play ‘Harvey Dent/Two Face’ in the next Batman flick. The Hollywood Reporter has stated that the actor is in final talks and about ready to sign on the dotted line.
Harvey Dent is the district attorney of Gotham City who starts out as a friend and ally of Batman, but once one side of his face gets literally eaten away by acid, the D.A. becomes the insane crime boss known as Two Face.
You may remember that Tommy Lee Jones played the character in 1995’s “Batman Forever,” the same flick that featured Jim Carrey as The Riddler.
Another name that has been added to the long list of possible hopefuls to land the role of assistant D.A. and Bruce Wayne love interest Rachel Dawes is Maggie Gyllenhaal. The rumor mill has been turned to high on this one with some reputable sources over at Latino Review reporting that she has already signed the contract. Gyllenhaal’s agent would neither deny or confirm the rumor.
If this pans out to be more than just rumor then Maggie will be starring with Heath Ledger, the actor who also starred with her brother Jake in “Brokeback Mountain.” Ledger will be playing the highly prized role of ‘The Joker’.

Damn ..way to go ..take on a completely different looking actress to play a character already established. Why not make her a different character? Eckhart as Two Face? Excellent news if it’s true..
I just watched Maggie in Stranger Than Fiction and enjoyed her performance. Great movie too – good to see Will Ferrel subdued and worthy of sympathy instead of needing a punch. He impressed me very much!

Actually I would have liked to see Maggie Gyllenhaal play the role of Cat Woman.
