Director David Goyer is out and Shawn Levy is in. That is the word from Warner Bros. as they have decided to go with Levy as their director for the big screen version of DC Comics superhero “The Flash.” Catch David’s take on it from his MySpace Blog.
The 1960’s “Barbarella” is returning to the big screen under the guiding hand of “Hannibal Rising” director Peter Webber and famed producer Dino de Laurentiis. The first film was a stylish 1960’s hallucinagenic space opera sex romp starring Jane Fonda from director Roger Vadim. This 21st Century version will be more a “Female James Bond — in outer space,” according to de Laurentiis.
Actor Tobin Bell, most noted for his appearance in the Saw films, will be the lead guy in “Boogeyman 2.” This film will take the Boogeyman franchise in a whole new direction according to a spokesperson from Ghost House Pictures.
Roman Polanski will take on the grandest project ever in his long and illustrious career as a film director and writer. His next project will be “Pompeii,” the huge blockbuster film dealing with the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. The film will center on all the intrigue going on in the lives of the inhabitants around the town prior to the famous volcanic eruption. “I got seduced by the writing,” Polanski admitted in an interview. “In general terms, when someone tells me to make a movie set in ancient times, I say it’s not my cup of tea. But I liked that it was a thriller and have read all his [author Robert Harris] books and there is such minute detail. He goes very far into the research.”
Many British theaters turn a cold shoulder to Ben Stiller’s huge box-office hit movie “Night At the Museum” after Fox announced they would release the film on DVD just 97 days after its thearical release. Fox blames their move on an early Easter, but British cinema owners are crying foul and saying no to the showing of the film.
