What’s Dirk Up To These Days?

January 4, 2007 By S. K. Sloan 2 Comments

If you live in the U.K. then you may already know the answer to the question what is ex-Classic Battlestar Galactica and The A-Team star Dirk Benedict doing these days. He is one of the last bunch of brave celebrities to enter the house in the U.K. version of the reality show “Big Brother”.

In the house are Ken Russell, Jermaine Jackson, a film director and musicians, actress’ Shilpa Shetty and Cleo Rocos, Columnist Carole Malone, Singer Donny Tourette, Ex-Stepper Ian ‘H’ Watkins, and Hollywood’s own Dirk Benedict. They join the five celebrities already vying for living space in the house.

Swapping the glamorous Bollywood life for Big Brother, actress Shilpa looks stunning in her beautiful sari as she sails to her new home. Columnist Carole steps up to get the best scoop of her career – a first-hand insight into life in the Big Brother House.

And while inside the House it appears to be all smiles and pleasantries, outside is another matter all together as Rock ‘n’ Roller Donny turns up. Answering the crowd’s chants of ‘who are ya?’ with a torrent of profanities and naughty finger gestures, the 22-year-old finally made it in.

Hot on his heels is Ex-Steps member Ian and then making the nifty nine in to a tip-top ten, actress Cleo enters.

But there is always room for one more, especially if it’s the original Starbuck and ‘Face’ from the A Team! Arriving in an A Team-esque van, Dirk Benedict puffs on a trademark cigar and milks the crowd before joining his fellow ten housemates.

So, more celebrity housemates than ever before have said goodbye to their mobiles, to their luxuries and to their freedom. They’ll spend the next few days getting used to Big Brother’s strict rules.

Ahhhh yes, who said there wasn’t life after two big TV hits! You can catch all the daily streaming video of the U.K.’s Celebrity Big Brother online.

After his appearance here at Starfest in Denver last year, I think I know more about Dirk Benedict’s personal life than Big Brother could ever tell me. He’s a very interesting and outspoken guy.
