We’ve talked about it on past Slice of SciFi shows, discussed its merits and now it looks like the reality of it is coming to pass and all I can say is YES!

We reported earlier in the year on one of our shows that director Robert Rodriguez and Sin City creator Frank Miller wanted Angelina Jolie to star in “Sin City 2” so badly that they were willing to put production on-hold, costing millions of dollars, just to get her for the part of the luscious and deadly Ava Lord. The delay was brought about by the fact that Angelina was pregnant.

It is looking more and more like she will now be taking on that graphic novel character in the film sequel and is really relishing the thought of playing such a sexually violent dynamo as Ava. The Lord character is the ex-lover of Dwight McCarthy, the role played by Clive Owen. Ava looks and plays innocent when on the hunt, but is deadly once the manipulation is complete. A human female-praying mantis.

In a recent interview with ComingSoon.net the actress stated, “We talked about it and I read the comic,” Jolie told the online movie site. “I don’t think the film is being made at this moment. When it’s actually going to be made I’m sure we’ll talk about it.

“It was a funny thing, because the idea came to me when I was pregnant,” she added. “So it was this idea… I’ve been Clover (in her newest film ‘The Good Shepherd’), depressed and quiet, and then I was feeling very maternal, pregnant. It was this idea of this sexy, violent and loud [person]… I thought maybe after I’m pregnant it would be nice to do.”

I am hoping from the tone of this last statement that Angelina is ready to take on the role because I can think of no actress better suited to the part. She would be a natural.
