Yancy Goes Monster Hunting

November 19, 2006 By Sam Sloan 2 Comments

wichbla3.jpgOn Saturday, November 25th, at 9/8C one of my favs returns to the small screen for a SCI FI Saturday feature flick. Yancy Butler, who starred in the short-lived, but fan favorite “Witchblade,” has had her share of ups and downs in her professional career and private life, but no matter how you cut it, she is a sheer delight to watch on the screen – be it big or small.

Yancy returns to the small screen for “Basilisk: The Serpent King.” The story picks up during an eclipse that turns a statue into a living monster. Whenever the mysterious creature turns its gaze on anything living (including humans) it turns them into statues. Yancy stars with Cleavant Derricks of “Sliders,” Stephen Furst from “Babylon 5” and “Animal House,” Jeremy London (7th Heaven) and Wendy Carter (Maxium Velocity).

It was a delight to see Yancy again. I have been a huge fan since witchblade and longing to see more from her. I saw Basilisk: The Serpent King. I thought the movie was dumb, but her acting was great, which in my opnion was the only thing that made this movie worth watching. I hope to see her in a regular series or a big screen movie again soon. She has a lot of talent. I really wish witchblade would make a come back! She was amazing in the role of sara pezzini.
