Edgar Ramirez has been cast as Paz, the villain in “The Bourne Ultimatum.” Ramirez topped out some other heavy hitters, including Gael Garcia Bernal and Freddy Rodriguez, all of whom have been mentioned in connection with the role of the assassin involved in the hunt for Jason Bourne, played by Matt Damon.
Ramirez, best known for his role as Keira Knightley’s bounty hunter buddy Choco in the gritty bio pic “Domino,” has spent most of his career as the main hunk in films out of his home country of Venezuela. He is currently in production with two other films – “Unauthorized Clifford” and “Vantage Point,” a thriller about a Presidental assassination attempt seen from different perspectives. It will co-star William Hurt, Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox from the hit SF television show “Lost.”
“The Bourne Ultimatum” is currently shooting in London and is scheduled for release on August 10, 2007.
