It would seem that the fanbase has spoken and swayed Eric! Today he posted the following to his production group …
“After a lot of persuading… I have decided to keep doing Section 31 for the time being. But this will be the last season. I am going to wrap up the arc after all.
The reason for this is varied. But the big reason is an outpouring of e-mail I have gotten since announcing I was killing it off. Especially from people in the blind community who have felt that the TV series has not really catered to them and their ilk. And my Section 31 being a pro-level audio Trek series has been something a lot of people seem to like.”
A lot more than I thought in fact. I blush to admit that, like most, I have never considered how different the world is for those who are blind. Audio dramas and talking books would be a very big part of the entertainment life of the sight impaired.
It’s going to be good to get some real closure on the adventures of the Nosferatu and her crew rather than have the story arc cut off at the start of the third season.
Looking forward to some twists and turns before we get to the “closure” though!
[All fans of Section 31 deserve a round of applause for encouraging Eric to continue out the full season before winding down the series.]
