Paris 2054 – Live Forever or Die Trying.

September 30, 2006 By Sam Sloan 1 Comment

renaissance_big.jpgYou’re living in mid-21st Century Paris, France. The city has been cut off from the rest of the world and every move you make, every person you communicate with and every street you walk on is being monitored and recorded.

At the heart and head of the watchers is Avalon, the multi-corporate distributor of the elixer of eternal youth and beauty. But, not all is as it appears. Kidnapping and secret projects with an unknown agenda are afoot and ace detective Barthelemy Karas (Daniel Craig) has been put on the mysterious case.

Welcome to Miramax Pictures animated artistic, beautiful, dark and bold vision of a stark future drenched in hidden secrets and technological frontiers. “Renaissance,” directed by Christian Volckman (Maaz), while set in the near future, has a 1950’s film noir and “Sin City” feel to it.

The animated film features a headline cast lead by Craig that also includes an array of other wonderful talent doing voice work including Catherine McCormick, Jonathan Pryce and Ian Holm.

“Renaissance” is now playing at selected cities – and, as David Letterman is fond of saying – “I just hope you’re city is selected.”

Sounds interesting. I hope it makes its way out here to the East Aussie Coast.
