Laura San Giacomo, probably best known for the TV comedy “Just Shoot Me,” will co-star with Oscar winner Holly Hunter in the new TNT drama “Grace.”
Hunter plays a disreputable and ill-tempered Oklahoma City police detective who is visited by an angel played by Leon Rippy (Deadwood), who himself suffers from some serious anger issues. The angel offers Hunter’s character the opportunity to redeem her life. San Giacomo will play Grace’s best friend, a forensic scientist. Bokeem Woodbine (Blade: The Series) will star as a death-row inmate who also can see the angel.
The pilot will be penned by Nancy Miller, noted for turning out award winning scripts for shows like “The Closer,” “Profiler” and “Law and Order.”
“Grace,” currently in pre-production, is set for TNT Cable TV release sometime in 2007.
